I really love the vinyl transparent cape or poncho...with polka dots no less!
I got me searching and I ran across this funky but useful(?) that lists rainwear in movies. Check out lakelandelements.com/booksandfilmshome.htm and tell me what you think.
Looking at that list makes it clear that the classic trench is an all-time favorite. Blessedly, these are quite available in vintage, and often wonderfully detailed and of high quality. A classic trench is a great starting place for someone interested in vintage but unsure where to begin.
Lovely set, Maggie. Mt favorite raincoat is my Burberry trench, but a close second place belongs to a yellow and orange slicker, made from a Picasso print by White Stag in 1963. I simply cannot wear it and be in a glum mood!

What an interesting niche genre for a website!

Burberry and Picasso print...that's IT! Either comfortingly classic or bright and happy, both wonderful vintage tacts for dreary weather.
