
It was homemade from McCall's pattern number 4405, dating from the mid 1970s, but it has all sorts of 40s detailing. I was lucky to have had the pattern for sale recently, and when I found the homemade dress I recognized it immediately.

BTW, the dress is currently for sale on eBay.

oh my - I loved those styles the first time.
I made most of my clothes in the 70s, and I always looked for patterns like this one. I truly loved the 40s influences. It wasn't too much longer that I discovered the real thing and became hooked on vintage!
